Small outdoor ceiling fans – Indoor and outdoor fans are designed for different operating environments. You can use an outdoor fan indoors, but never use an indoor fan outside. Fans acceptable for outdoor use, is UL – rated as wet or damp, wet fans, designed to address unmet terraces and areas where the fan will be exposed to water. Moist fans are designed for protected outdoor space where the water will not flow or blow into them as well as bathrooms, laundry rooms and other high-humidity indoor areas.
Safe operation, small outdoor ceiling fans used outdoors require waterproof or water resistant shielding around the wires and other electrical components. Stainless steel hardware prevent rust and special plastic holder fan blades from warping in the humidity and heat.
